WellReady Privacy Policy
Last updated August 8, 2026
WellReady is a recovery-support app provided by your care organization through the WellReady Now platform. It helps you stay connected to your support team, complete brief self check-ins, and receive reminders. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is protected. We designed the app to keep your clinical record out of the phone entirely: your medical notes and records are never shown in the app.
Information the app handles
- Basic contact details — your name, phone number, and email address, used to identify your account and reach you.
- Your own check-ins and surveys — the responses you submit in the app (such as a daily mood check-in or a wellness survey). These are self-reported by you and shared with your care team.
- Messages — messages you exchange with your peer support or care team through the app.
- Notification token — a device identifier from Apple or Google that lets us send you the reminders and messages you have turned on. It is not used for advertising.
- Location (only if you choose to use check-ins) — if a future version offers meeting or curfew check-ins, the app will ask your permission first and only record a location when you actively perform a check-in. You can decline and still use the rest of the app.
How your information is used
Your information is used only to provide the service: to sign you in, deliver reminders and messages, record the check-ins and surveys you submit, and share those with your care organization so they can support your recovery. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking across other apps or websites.
Who can see your information
Your care organization and the staff supporting you can see the check-ins, surveys, and messages you submit. We share information with service providers who help operate the app (for example, secure cloud hosting and the notification services run by Apple and Google) only as needed to run the service, and under agreements that require them to protect it. We may disclose information if required by law.
Health information
Your care organization handles your health records under applicable privacy laws, including HIPAA and, where it applies, the federal substance-use confidentiality rule (42 CFR Part 2). The app itself does not display your clinical notes or records. Any survey or check-in you submit is treated as confidential and protected under those same rules.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit and stored on secured, access-controlled systems. Access is limited to your care organization and authorized personnel. You sign in with your phone number and a password, and you can enable your device’s biometric unlock (Face ID or Touch ID) for added protection.
Your choices
- You can turn notifications on or off in your device settings.
- You can decline location access; the app remains usable without it.
- You can ask your care organization to review, correct, or close your account and delete your information, subject to record-keeping requirements that apply to your care.
Children
The app is intended for people enrolled in a recovery or care program and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
